Apple introduces RED Special Edition iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus
Apple introduced new red-colored iPhone 7 and 7 Plus as its (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition iPhone commemorating its 10 year partnership with (RED), the philanthropic initiative to eradicate AIDS. For each phone sold, Apple is donating an unspecified amount to the (RED) Global Fund.Apple is the world’s largest corporate donor to the Global Fund, contributing more than $130 million, the company said.
These latest special edition iPhones have a handsome red aluminum finish and a portion of the sales proceeds goes towards a Global Fund to help combat AIDS.
“Since we began working with (RED) 10 years ago, our customers have made a significant impact in fighting the spread of AIDS through the purchase of our products, from the original iPod nano (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition all the way to today’s lineup of Beats products and accessories for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “The introduction of this special edition iPhone in a gorgeous red finish is our biggest (PRODUCT)RED offering to date in celebration of our partnership with (RED), and we can’t wait to get it into customers’ hands.”
Red iPhone 7 & 7 Plus Price and Availability in India
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus (PRODUCT) RED Special Edition will be available in 128GB and 256GB models starting at Rs 82,000 from apple.com and Apple Stores, and from Apple Authorized Resellers. Both special edition models will be available worldwide beginning Friday, March 24 and start shipping to customers by the end of March in the US and more than 40 countries and regions, including India, will follow in April.
